Learn about the Delaware Center for Inland Bays!
The Delaware Center for the Inland Bays, a local environmental nonprofit organization, will join us at the Inland Bays Garden Center on Saturday, May 15, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to talk about their work restoring water quality and habitats around the Inland Bays. The Center uses science-based approaches to study coastal ecosystems and species in and along the Inland Bays, such as horseshoe crabs, diamondback terrapins, and oysters. The organization focuses on nature-based approaches and native plants in its work to restore forested areas and stabilize shorelines, and also has a robust volunteer program that is always looking for more people to get involved!
The Center is one of 28 National Estuary Programs, and its mission is to preserve, protect, and restore the Inland Bays and their watershed.
