Marvelous Monarchs with Michelle Garrett

This class will introduce the Monarch Butterfly, a truly unique and magnificent arthropod whose migratory behavior is unlike any other on the planet. We will discuss the current state of the Atlantic Flyway Monarch Migration and what we as concerned consumers can do to improve the habitat for the Monarchs. Our class is dedicated to Margaret Kimmel, our own “Butterfly Lady, who’s tireless work to preserve and grow, the Monarch population will be for us to continue.

Participants will be introduced to the Monarch Way Station Program, an easy way to be recognized for your individual contribution to provide a safe habitat for Monarch butterflies in your own backyard.

Michelle Garrett is a volunteer docent and tour guide, at the Delaware botanic gardens.
